Thokozani Miya

Biography

Thokozani Miya is a South African aviation entrepreneur and founder of Neo Aviation, first Black-owned air taxi. It offers charter flights to over 150 destinations across South Africa. He has a strong IT foundation, with experience in cybersecurity, telecoms, and banking. He holds multiple professional certifications, is a graduate of Tshwane University of Technology in Computer Systems, Technology and Engineering, and holds a PMD certificate from GIBS. His entrepreneurial journey began in 2002 with the Sausage Saloon franchise, shaping his belief in persistence, research, and strategic networking as the foundation of business success. 

Miya is an advocate for youth empowerment, driving access, innovation, and opportunity in South Africa’s aviation sector through Neo Aviation and broader leadership. He actively supports skills development, job creation, and mentorship within aviation and technology ecosystems, served as Vice President, Membership, at Johannesburg Toastmasters Club and as a mentor in IBM’s Equity Equivalent Programme for SME.
